Mini Haul - Shopping vs. Buying

According to my boyfriend, all he does is "buying" and I am always "shopping". The difference between the two is I spend too much time walking around looking at stuff with no immediate intention to buy. I think it's fine, I bought one of these items and "shopped" for the rest.

I generally never shop at American Apparel and these riding pants were $82 Canadian. But, I did have a groupon for the value of 80$ so I only paid 7 dollars in tax. (~$47). I was contemplating between the disco pants and riding pants when I was browsing online. Since these are high-waisted, I decided to get them in medium :)
Over the boxing day sale, I went on Chapters and shopped around to find these adorable pug cards. They come in a set of 8 and they were approx 3 dollars for the box. They are also blank cards so they can be customized to suit any occasion. Never send the items to be picked up at store, they took forever to get over there.

Last item I shopped for was this non-caffenated tea blend from DavidsTea. It smells lovely but I haven't tried it yet :)
Strawberry Rhubarb Parfait
I need to stop shopping ><

Purchases from Chapters!

Hello December!

This will be a short post because I have an exam tomorrow!

Anyways, I received parts of my purchase from Chapters and I wanted to include the coupon that I received. I mentioned it in this post about the promotion.

Chapters Indigo or Indigo Chapters is a bookstore chain in Canada. I believe Chapters and Indigo used to be separate chains but had a merger? They have a great online shopping policy:

  • Free shipping when you spend $25+
  • In-store returns
In-store returns is the most important factor when I decide to do my online shopping. I don't want to wait for 3 weeks to get a refund or exchange and have to pay for return shipping.

I purchased the Q&A A day journal and a portable battery pack (not pictured). I will start writing in the journal in the new year. You are suppose to write a sentence or 2 each day for the next 5 years. I cannot manage to do a full entry each day, but I should be able to manage a sentence or two. I have read some sporadic entries from previous attempts to maintain a journal and it really helped me learn more about myself.

Have you started to shop for the new year yet?

2013 Christmas Gift Guide for Girls

I planned on posting on Saturday but it is nearing the end of my semester so I am occupied with schoolwork.

Anyways, I have started planning for my Christmas, so I thought that I would share my gift ideas. As a girl, I don't think that girls are hard to shop for because we can always use an extra "insert item".

I will have two categories: over and under $50. Over 50 will be posted on a later date since this I want to include my thoughts in the suggestions.

From Left to Right

These Midi rings are adorable from BaubleBar. There are several styles to choose from and they are currently on sale 2 for $34 from their online website. The best thing about midi rings is that you don't need to ask or find out their ring size because they are suppose to be fit higher up on you fingers!

I found these adorable gloves from Asos. They have free shipping worldwide and the antlers are what attracted me to them. They can go from gloves to mitten making them smartphone friendly.

From Sephora, I really want this eyeliner set from Urban Decay. It contains six eyeliners that black-based. This eyeliner set is actually wearable, I am not one to sport bright blue or even dark purple liners. And I've heard that Urban Decay makes some great liners.

This next item that I suggest can be found at other retailers (Sephora, their own website, etc).  But if you are from Canada, I suggest checking out Chapter's selection of colours. Butter London polishes are considered to be a high-end nail polish brand and they have the coolest names. The one in the picture is Cake Hole. They are on sale right now and they have a starbucks deal going on for all purchases made on the website. You can get someone a gift and earn a treat for a job well done.
A winter accessory that I cannot live without would be the infinity/ circle scarf. I hate regular scarves because the ends dangle everywhere. There are a million ways to style a scarf but sometimes it feels as though I am choking myself. Asos' scarf is HUGE and looks incredibly warm and cozy. And as a monochromatic lover, I am still missing a black scarf in my wardrobe. ;)

I am not sponsored by Chapters BUT I seriously considering buying these items.

It seems like I say this a lot.

But, happy Shopping!
